The DOH Central Library is located at the ground floor of Building 9 (Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service building), San Lazaro Compound Rizal Avenue, Sta. Cruz Manila. The Library offers a reading area with a seating capacity of 30 users, an open stack area consisting the General Collection and WHO Publications. There are 2 OPAC stations with access to Internet.  It has a separate room for DoH publications/archives  and staff lounge. The Library is the depository library of DOH and WHO publications.

 

Mission

The DOH Library is committed to foster creation and sharing of knowledge and information among the staff of the Department and its stakeholders. The Library strives to be the chief source of accurate health information resource for those involved in health policy development, research, patient care, and for those who simply want to increase their knowldge on health promotion and on prevention of health related disorders.


Objectives

  • To provide easy access to quality health knowledge and information resources to support decision and policy making for health promotion.
  • To preserve the institutional memory of the Department of Health through proper archiving of all DOH publications.
  • To provide venue for knowledge exchange and information sharing through networking among medical and health libraries and health information centers.
  • To foster continues professional development among DOH  librarians.
